what we do

At Entangled Vision, we leverage cutting-edge quantum information technology to track health through the human eye. Today, our device can diagnose macular degeneration, the leading cause of vision loss in people over 60, with an automated screening test. Tomorrow, this technology will diagnose a range of retinal conditions, including diabetic macular edema and glaucoma, and detect early signs of cognitive diseases, like Alzheimer’s, through the eye.

Early detection of macular degeneration enables eye doctors to administer new treatments that preserve patients’ vision and avoid costly retinal injections. This beachhead application is a $12B market opportunity, with a 6-month timeline to regulatory approval as a Class I device. Integrating our solution into smart glasses will unlock a groundbreaking health metric, accelerating the shift toward proactive, data-driven preventative care.

THE SCIENCE

THE SCIENCE

Our device creates entoptic patterns in a person’s eye, optical illusions that exist because of an unusual interaction between the polarization of light and the retina.

A healthy person can see these patterns clearly. While this phenomenon was first discovered in 1844, Haidinger’s Brush was considered too difficult to see to be useful in the clinic.

In 2024, that changed.

Our technology creates larger, more clearly visible entoptic patterns. Now, optometrists can use polarization perception to diagnose age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of irreversible vision loss in the developed world.

Today our device can detect macular degeneration with an automated screening test.

Tomorrow, Entangled Vision will leverage this technology to diagnose a range of retinal conditions and screen for early signs of cognitive impairment
